Quality Inspector Job Description:

- Provide technical support to the Quality and Engineering Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides support, tools and resources to ensure excellent quality
- Complies with audit procedures and ensures they are properly carried out.
- Performs random product quality checks as needed.
- Assist with 1st article inspections/PPAP requirements for new parts
- Flexible in working in different areas and different plants on short notice
- Function as an information resource and facilitate communication as quality issues arise
- Create and implement work instructions
- Read blueprints and perform corresponding measurements on a wide range of parts using a variety of techniques, including: caliper, travel dial, gage blocks, pin gages, angle finder and optical comparator.
- Supports the calibration of gages

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Proficient in Word, Excel, assembly, material handling, and quality
- Ability to work well with people
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
- Excellent people skills, self-starter, good problem solver, reliable, accountable.

QUALIFICATIONS / PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
- Experience of assembling products
- Similar training in quality
- Experience in measurements and inspection
- 2 year technical degree preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to talk/hear/sit for prolonged periods of time
- The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits.
- Physical requirements - Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs on an occasional basis.
