3M is seeking an experienced Plant Quality Manager to manage and lead the quality group at the Brookings, South Dakota plant
Job Summary:
The Plant Quality Manager will lead the Plant Quality Department and provide on-site leadership to Division Product Engineering to assure compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, continuous improvement of the plant's quality systems and deliver on product quality and service goals. The Brookings plant is the largest global healthcare operation in 3M with approximately 50 total staff members. The Brookings Plant complies with global healthcare regulated product requirements, including FDA QSR, GMP, MDD, ISO 13485, and PAL. The Plant Quality Manager will partner with counterparts in our global operations to mentor and share best practices. Skin and Wound Care Division fosters a customer-focused environment, dedicated to sustained global growth. The Skin and Wound Care Division quality function is fully integrated in the business teams as a critical component of business value, with a strong philosophy of continuous improvement.
Major Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee operations at the plant site including three divisions: Skin and Wound Care, Infection Prevention and Food Safety.
Build collaborative cross-functional relationships across the organization: within the plant operations, with global colleagues, and St. Paul.
Manage the Quality Inspection, Receiving Inspection and Quality Engineering resources and personnel.
Represent and promote customer-focused quality in the plant.
Develop goals, strategies and plans to meet and exceed the plant quality objectives, in support of the division.
Manage and lead the Plant Quality group to ensure that effective processes are in place to meet global quality management system requirements.
Proactively encourage cross-functional support and relationships to effectively implement quality management system requirements in support of meeting the division's plans and objectives
Supervise the calibration system.
Provide technical expertise in understanding regulated product requirements (FDA, ISO, PAL) with plant quality management system.
Assure quality engineering/systems support, including the testing for process improvement and new product introduction.
Be a member of Plant Operating Committee.
Host and lead frequent customer and regulatory inspections/audits.
Responsible for conducting quarterly Plant Quality Management Reviews as Management Representative, and leading continuous improvement.
Location, Travel and Relocation Information: The person hired for the position of Plant Quality Manager will be located in Brookings, South Dakota and report to the Division Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance in Maplewood, MN. Travel is up to 10% of the time. This requisition is authorized for relocation
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree
* Minimum of 5 combined years of experience in the management of a technical and/or business organization with direct reports
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in engineering or another scientific discipline
* 5 or more years combined experience in quality management systems
* 5 or more years experience in an FDA regulated industry
* 5 or more years experience quality or product engineering working in a manufacturing environment
* ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Manager of Quality
* Experience with ISO 13485 and/or FDA-QSR
* Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt project experience
* Experience working with statistical methodology
* History of effective customer interactions
* Strong demonstrated leadership ability, including the ability to lead teams, manage ambiguity, resolve conflict and drive change
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to multitask and self prioritize
