3M's Occupational Health & Environmental Safety Division is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse for its Aberdeen Plant.

The Occupational Health Nurse promotes the health and well being of 3M employees through onsite programs and services, implementing population-based programs to manage or improve health.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Provide direct clinical care for 3M employee illness and injury, according to Occupational Health Nursing Guidelines for Primary Clinical Conditions, Bonnie Rogers et. Al., Third Edition, including nursing assessment, treatment, and referral as indicated.
* Identify 3M employees eligible to participate in 3M medical surveillance programs and provide testing, or work with outsourced vendor to complete testing, per 3M's required medical surveillance timelines, educating employees on results and following up as needed with employees whose results may be out of acceptable range.
* Conduct pre-placement evaluations (medical questionnaire review and vital signs), and support the 3M Site with collection of pre-employment drug testing
* Participate with EHS on injury prevention and incident investigation.
* Guide the 3M Site health promotion/wellness team, providing consumer health education information and programs, and 3M-approved worksite screenings. Support 3M employees on lifestyle changes to lower health risk factors.
* Lead the 3M Site's Disability Management Team and review case management plans for 3M employees, collaborating with 3M's third party administrator for disability and workers' compensation to evaluate medical care needs and facilitate return to work planning.
* Maintain medical records and preserve confidentiality of all such records and 3M employees' personal health information.

This position is a part time position. It will be a job share between 2 people with each person working 24 hours a week for a total combined work week of 48 hours.

Qualifications

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor Degree
* 5 years of nursing experience
*
Current Registered Nurse (R.N.) license or certificate is required in state of practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Certification in occupational health nursing by a professional nursing organization is preferred, as is certification in public health, and case management.
* Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
* Current clinical skills including cardio-pulmonary resuscitation are required.
* Basic computer skills are required.
* Coordinating, influencing, and short-term planning and strategic planning skills in regard to programs and priorities are also required.
* Requires the ability to plan, implement and evaluate health related programs.
* Uses and maintains medical equipment for clinical testing or screening as approved by Corporate Occupational Medicine.
* Knowledge and experience with local, state, and country regulatory and legislative requirements are needed, as is knowledge of 3M values and policies.
* The job involves primarily non-confined position and standing and walking.
* Mental and visual concentration are required.
* Performing this job involves risk exposure that could require professional medical care.
* Application and utilization of safety rules, training, or special protective equipment are required.

Position occasionally may require coverage on all shifts.
